How I use AI
I teach people to use AI openly, with a human check on everything. I hold my own work to the same standard, so this page lists everywhere Aligned Momentum uses AI, and where it doesn't.
Made with AI
- Images. Every photo and illustration on this website, in the online course and in my slides is AI-generated with Google Gemini, apart from photos of me. The people in them are not real clients, staff or participants. The original files carry Google's content credentials; resized copies can lose them, so I label them here and in the footer.
- Course narration. The audio on each course screen, including the guided practices, is an AI voice made from recordings of my own voice (ElevenLabs). I wrote and checked every script. In live sessions, I lead the meditations myself.
- Writing and research. I use AI assistants, mainly Claude by Anthropic, to help me research, draft and check the course, slides, documents and this website. I check every factual claim against the published research and cite it, and I review and approve everything before it's used. That's why the website, course, emails and reports carry the label Written by AI (Claude), guided by Mark: the words are drafted by AI, and I decide what they say.
- Cohort reports. When I prepare a group's midpoint or final report, an AI assistant helps me analyse the group's questionnaire and feedback answers. It never sees journal entries. Quotes are only used with the person's consent, and organisations only ever see totals for groups of 5 or more.
- Session prep and follow-ups. Before a session, AI helps me turn your questionnaire answers into a one-page prep sheet, and it helps me draft follow-up emails. I read and change every draft, and I send them myself.
- My inbox. An AI assistant sorts my email, including messages from the contact form, so nothing important gets missed. It doesn't see the portal's support and safety alerts. I read those myself.
- Social media. Some of my LinkedIn posts start as AI drafts. I rewrite each one in my own words before it goes out.
- The Rootcrown app (formerly EnlightenMe). The practice app included in the programme has an AI chat assistant, Mark AI, built on Google Gemini. It's AI, not me. All narration in my voice in the app is the same ElevenLabs clone, the app's images (including its logo) are AI-generated, and its background music is made with ElevenLabs Music. Affirmations you write yourself are checked by Mark AI (Gemini) before they are spoken in my AI voice.
Not AI
- Live sessions and 1:1s are me, in person or on video.
- Your journal. I read it myself. The portal's safety alert looks for a fixed list of words; it isn't AI.
- Your scores and progress are calculated with fixed formulas.
- Emails from the portal are fixed templates, written by AI (Claude) and guided by Mark. No AI writes to you on the fly or reads your replies.
- Decisions about you. No AI decides who takes part, who gets support, or what your organisation is told.
- Watching staff. I don't help organisations use AI to watch their staff: no keystroke or screen tracking, no individual productivity scores, no emotion reading. I ask every organisation about this before I take them on.
Why I label it
New Zealand doesn't yet require businesses to label AI-generated content. I do it anyway. It follows the government's voluntary Responsible AI Guidance for Businesses (MBIE, 2025), and the Fair Trading Act's rule against misleading people. It's also what I'd want to know.
Where the research behind the programme comes from is on Where my claims come from.
